Deputy CIO Named

As DoN principal deputy CIO, Hoffman is the chief adviser to DoN CIO Robert Carey, and is responsible for managing and leading the DoN CIO staff, developing information management/information technology strategies for achieving enterprise integration across the department; leading change efforts; and ensuring effective communication among the CIO, the Navy and Marine Corps staffs, as well as all other constituent customers and stakeholders. As principal deputy CIO, Hoffman also assumes the role of DoN senior information assurance officer.
Additionally, Hoffman leads all DoN CIO functional teams, including enterprise architecture, emerging technology, naval networks and enterprise services, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, investment management, information sharing, knowledge management, records management, enterprise commercial IT strategy and cyber/IT workforce.
Hoffman also serves as the director of investment management for the DoN CIO. In that capacity, she is the principal adviser responsible for the department's IT investments. Her areas of responsibility include portfolio management, development of functional area managers' architectures, DoN IM/IT investment management review process, Clinger-Cohen Act confirmation, the DoN IT budget, and IT inquiries from Congress. ♦
