Skot Butler has been named director of strategic initiatives of Intelsat General, where he will initially lead a team working to win the Pentagon’s $8 billion Future Commercial Satellite Communications Architecture contract, to be awarded by the Defense Information Service Agency in 2010. The contract will replace the decade-old DSTS-G contract vehicle now used by the military to lease commercial satellite capacity and services.
