Solution Recovers Critical Data From Corrupted Systems

SafeNet has launched ProtectDrive 9.0 full disk and removable media encryption, now with RapidRecovery technology. With ProtectDrive RapidRecovery, users can have critical data recovered from corrupted systems, typically in less than five minutes, reducing downtime and lost revenue. The recovery of files from encrypted disks can be a slow process due to the time required to decrypt a hard drive. With ProtectDrive RapidRecovery, system files and other critical information can be recovered almost immediately. This allows help desks to meet their service level agreements and users to access their data. ProtectDrive RapidRecovery’s hard drive encryption technology encrypts the entire hard drive of a laptop, workstation or server to protect against disclosure of information in case of theft or accidental loss of the hardware device. Pre-boot authentication prevents unauthorized users from compromising the operating system to access sensitive information. This is the first solution of its kind that can be deployed and managed directly using Microsoft Active Directory, providing high levels of assurance, reduced management complexities and significant cost savings. ProtectDrive is the only full-disk encryption solution that is part of a comprehensive enterprise data protection suite that protects not only endpoint devices, but also data throughout the enterprise.

Armored Fiber Optic Cable Reduces Installation Time The MIC DX Armored Cable

from Corning Cable Systems is an all-dielectric armored fiber optic cable design that eliminates the labor and costs associated with accessing and grounding a typical armored cable. MIC DX Armored Cable is designed for use in riser, plenum and general purpose environments for intrabuilding backbone and horizontal installations. The cable core is protected by a flexible all-dielectric armor that offers over four times the crush protection compared to unarmored cables, a smaller outside diameter and improved tensile strength. MIC DX Armored Cable is an innovative cable design that reduces installation time and expense by eliminating the need to ground the cable, while providing greater tensile strength than interlocking armored cable designs. Since there are no metallic components within the MIC DX Armored Cable, accessing the fiber is easier, safer and faster. The cable meets or exceeds (for higher crush) ICEA S-83-596 test criteria and is available with Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet performances.

Satellite Router Offers High- Speed Portable Connectivity

VT iDirect has extended its Evolution product line with the introduction of the lightweight, extremely compact iConnex e850mp Satellite Router Board. The e850mp enables systems integrators and other third-party developers to create portable and mobile solutions with all of the advanced features of the iDirect Intelligent Platform. The e850mp is half the size of iDirect’s standard iConnex board and features iDirect’s proprietary Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum technology for ultra-small mobile antennas. It also supports military-grade security specifications, including AES encryption, TRANSEC, FIPS 140-2, and X.509 digital certificate encryption and automatic over-the-air key exchange. When combined with a bi-directional satellite antenna, the e850mp extends high-speed data, voice and video connectivity to a wide range of small form factor portable and mobile solutions, including portable satellite communications systems that can be easily carried by an individual soldier and serve as a critical technology for expanding battlefield awareness, identifying potential threats, transmitting situational video back to base, receiving command and control information, and telemedicine. ♦
